Featured article: SKIN CARE- Bringing Out Your Beautiful Best
There are no other occasions when women find themselves more driven to
look and feel their best than that of their wedding day. From the
moment we accept the proposal, many of us go immediately into panic
mode over everything we want to accomplish before the big day. When it
comes to achieving the goal of looking and feeling our personal best,
start with a list of the things that are a must. We obviously want to
look our best, and that is different and personal for each one of us.
If you have great skin, continue your skin care routine and schedule a
facial a few weeks before the wedding. If you feel your complexion
needs to be brighter and hydrated, your goal may be achieved in 3
months or less with the recommended treatments. But, if you are like
most of us and are struggling with an uneven skin tone, complexion,
acne, or just want to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, most likely
you will need a series of skin care treatments. Achieving your goal may
take you up to a year. Make an appointment ASAP for a consultation with
a skin care professional. Remember, depending on your needs and skin
condition, treatments may be necessary every 4 weeks over 6-12 months.
Medical Aesthetics- such as Botox, fillers and laser treatments are a
wonderful way to accomplish visible results almost immediately without
investing a great amount of time on a regular basis. Although, if you
have never had these services before, we would suggest trying them
several months before the wedding date. Botox and laser treatments
could be started anywhere from six to three months ahead of time. For
fillers, you should start six to nine months ahead of your event. If
you have experience with these services, you can schedule your
appointment closer to the wedding date, but don't wait until the last
minute. If you haven't considered permanent make-up, you may want
to. This is a fabulous way to enhance your features with a very natural
look and feel. For perfectly placed permanent brows, eyeliner, or lip
color, please book consultations and appointments at least three months
in advance of wedding festivities to allow for touch up and healing
time.
Waxing, simply a necessity! If you have never been waxed, we
would suggest having your service scheduled 3-6 weeks prior to wedding
festivities. This will allow for grow out before your next scheduled
waxing, 1-2 weeks just before your wedding date. Some circumstances may
require a touch up tweeze, particularly the eyebrows, the week of the
wedding.
Professional makeup application
on your wedding day. Having a professional do your makeup on your
wedding day may be the only time you get to close your eyes, relax and
enjoy yourself. It is so necessary take a breath or two, give yourself
time, and enjoy the attention! Some brides choose to have only their
make-up done in private while others choose to make it a wedding day
event that includes the bride's maids, mother of the bride and family
members. Give yourself plenty of time to search for your make-up
artist, perhaps three-six months in advance, particularly if your
special day is scheduled for the "wedding season." Think ahead, find a
look that you desire to achieve, bring in a photo to your trial run
appointment and take a photo of yourself on that day so you can make
any needed changes and correct make-up choices before your wedding day.
How do I find the right professional for my needs? That is one of the
most important questions you will ask yourself. Referrals are a great
and reliable way to find the right professional for you. Ask friends,
co-workers, someone who has recently been through this process. Make
consultation appointments ahead of time; bring your questions and
concerns with you. Once you are committed to your goals and have chosen
the professional to achieve them, relax, feel secure and enjoy the
results. The process may seem overwhelming, but it is not. So sit
back, take your first step forward and decide what truly is important
to you, the rest simply falls into place. No beauty expert can give you
beauty within, so smile and cherish your wedding day! By Deborah Polverino • Pure Skin • 4170 Gross Road Extention • Capitola, CA • 831.479.7546
